The Developing Nation
"A developing nation", A term which when heard, sends a bolt of patriotism through our bones and makes every grandpa recite the tales of valor and about how the British looted us. But don't you think its high time that we change this present-continuous tense into the past tense (developed). What is stopping us, or rather what is it that is pulling us back?
The simple and straightforward answer to this question is "Us". We are the ones who is pulling us and our country down, its been almost 74 years since our independence and still, somewhere in the back of our heads, there seems to be a tinge of what is called an inferiority complex. Most of us are afraid or rather hesitant to set foot into the world with unlimited opportunities, where we rule ourselves, where we are happy with what we are, where we roam freely with the eyes of confidence, trying our best to be the best.
The human resources that we produce are out there making the developed nations develop more, and we cannot just blame them because of our jealousy, they would've worked here if we were successful in providing them with the necessary. In this competent world, India should set the necessary bait to attract the builders of a developed nation, the investors, the human resource and the public.
But we cant just turn a blind eye towards the things which we have achieved in these 74 years, from debts to credits, from the isolated to the accessible and what not. We have in fact reached the last part of this developing stage, with many of the global giants having their production plants in India, with employment opportunities and a competent market.
But despite all this, the draconian devil of corruption has laid a trap across the country, to which many has already fallen into. Certain study shows that what the British looted from India throughout a century is much less than what Indian politicians have looted in the past 70 years, With more and more infrastructure funds provided, in which only 1 out of 20 projects are successful raises eyebrows. With many laying hands on public money, the sweat and blood of the taxpayers, makes the future of our country a matter of concern.
What we need to do? What the government needs to do? get up from your couch and raise questions, spread awareness about how this can be changed, inspire others, and be responsible yourself. get rid of that crab mentality and stand together to work for the India of our dreams. This may seem to be an utopian concept boiling in the mind of some stupid teenager, but let me remind you all, democracy was once too.
The government, I believe should take care of the necessities rather than the comforts. Ask to yourself, Is it schools or hospitals that we need right now or new luxuries for the leaders. the amount of fuel being burned up in the idle engines of some government vehicles is equivalent to the number of children who are living in darkness. Poverty isn't something which has to be hidden from our foreign guests, its something which must be removed.
Thank you.
